Patricia 's Story
Life
I grew up in Queens, NY. Went to high school in Flushing. Lived in Nassau and Suffolk Counties on LI, before moving to FL. Worked at Adelphi University and Dowling College, both on L. I. Before marrying, worked 7 years in NYC. Was an Administrative Secretary before leaving to have my first child. Left NY in 1977 and moved to Florida. Worked in the Pharmacy at a major Hospital before initially winning a scholarship into nursing and later applying for scholarships and loans to finish my education. Attended St. Petersburg College, FL (LPN l983) and went on to Valdosta State, GA (BA l987 GA), as well as Weber State University, UT ( RN 1994, with honors and further surgical training). Currently, am a licensed RN in Florida. List for l986-7) - It is the largest, most prestigious publication in the country recognizing academically gifted students selected by their college dean or comparable faculty representative. Only l/2 of l% of our nation's college students receive this award); President's List (Academic Distinction - Grade point-average of 3.3 above, with at least l2 academic hours. This is a distinct honor); and Alpha Kappa Delta (For academic achievements in the Departments of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice - This is an international honorary society for outstanding scholars from the department of Sociology). Served in the US Naval Reserve in St. Petersburg as a YN2 (E-5). Happy to live within visiting distance to both my married sons. They have a successful computer company in Clearwater, doing POS systems for the fast food industry. Currently reside in FL.
